THE JAMES D'HERON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
One scholarship will be awarded for the 2008-2009 academic school year to a student who is a resident of the state of New Jersey, and plans on majoring in Fire Science, Fire Engineering or Fire Safety.
The award will be a $1,000 scholarship, renewable up to four years, providing the applicant maintains a 3.0 GPA. The scholarship will be paid directly to the institution the student is attending. The recipient must be accepted to an accredited college or university. The scholarship will be continued if the recipient transfers to another accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. The maximum award will be $4,000.
Eligibility
Applications will be open to:
New Jersey State Residents majoring full-time in Fire Sciences, Fire Engineering or Fire Safety. All applicants must be accepted to an accredited 2 or 4 year college or university. Students may transfer from one college or university to another, but must give the scholarship committee advance notice of this transfer.
Time Guideline & Application Requirements
All applications must be completed and post marked by January 15, 2008. No applications will be accepted after this deadline. All applications must be type written or computer generated and mailed to the following address:
